Edward Waters University notifies AAUP of change in recognition

In a letter from Edward Waters University’s President A. Zachary Faison Jr. JD, the university withdraws recognition of the chapter citing its religious affiliation and free speech. The university and the chapter have been negotiating a new contract since fall of 2019. In  February of 2022 the faculty overwhelming agreed in a letter of support asking for a new contract with over 85 percent of the bargaining unit members signing the letter.
